“Siblings”
Successive
natural-edged cross-sections of an old dry knarled branch of osage orange. This
wood is so delightful to work with – hard, fine-grained, shows little sanding
marks. Pieces are simply attached with unglued wooden pegs, allowing
rearrangements if desired. This sculpture is about three feet high. Two pieces
VERY lightly dyed. All pieces are
finished with 1/1/1 solvent/oil/poly, which I understand, after all the
complications, convolutions, secrets and complexities of described finishes, is
in the end “danish oil”.
